Meet the Team!
I am in charge of coaching at Aqualina and the feeder club K S Synchro. I make all the team selections, make up all the choreography of all of our routines and make all of the music for the girls to swim to. I also run all of the sessions and land based training sessions. This way I know all of my swimmers individual needs and can assist them all when and where needed.
I was a synchronised swimmer myself for 10 years and still try to swim when I can! My highlight was competing with our most advanced team on my last competition and winning regional championships for the first time in recent Aqualina history! I have worked alongside international and national swimmers and have various qualifications including Level 1&2 synchro coaching, I am a level 1,2&3 synchro assessor, a basic synchro judge and a synchro fitness instructor.
I run regular committee meetings where we look after the day to day running of the club, supported by the committee and the Coaches. I regularly seek opportunities for the club to receive funding and act as a first point of contact for enquires. I also play an active role in the Coaching team on poolside and act as an official for the club at competitions. I represent the Herts ASA on the ASA East Region Synchronised swimming Committee as well.
I help coach on Fridays and Sunday, and as a Basic Assessor, help assess swimmers taking Skill grades 1 & 2. I have been involved in Synchro as a swimmer for over 20 years.
Secretary & Volunteer Coach
Hi I’m Karen Brennan Aqualina’s Secretary and i too am a parent volunteer.
I minute the content from committee meetings and A.G.M’s.
I also get involved with other aspects of the club like coaching if we are short poolside, help organise a social disco attached to our AGM, I have helped at other events or displays, like Ware Carnival display. I have assisted at competitions and recently attended a basic assessors course in Synchronised swimming. I support my husband as Chairman & my daughter as Head Coach. I’m incredibly proud of the Club and it’s swimmers and volunteers.
Club Kit Manager
I am a parent volunteer who for the past two years have ordered and stocked everything you need for synchronised swimming at Aqualina from noseclips and hats to bags and jackets. I am there every Friday night.
I joined the Aqualina Committee several years ago when my daughter Emily joined the club. I have been a part of the clubs growth in many different ways over the years. My main role is treasurer but like most other committee members I help where help is needed. I feel honoured to be part of such a successful club.
Parent Volunteer. I ensure the club has the correct procedures and policies in place to attain Swim21 Essential, You might also see me collating the scores at the Stevenage competitions.
